Floating (wall-mounted) vanities are one of the most popular choices for modern and contemporary Florida bathrooms. They mount directly to the wall with no legs touching the floor, which creates the illusion of more space and makes cleaning underneath easy.

Floating vanities are a great fit for Florida bathrooms because they keep the cabinet off potentially damp floors. If you ever experience a minor leak or water intrusion, having clearance below the vanity reduces the chance of water damage to the cabinet itself. They work especially well in guest bathrooms and condos where space is limited.

Shaker-Style Vanities

The shaker style remains one of the most versatile and popular vanity designs in Southwest Florida homes. Clean lines, recessed panel doors, and a timeless look make shaker vanities work with transitional, coastal, and traditional bathroom designs alike. Vanity Materials That Handle Florida Humidity

Not all vanity materials perform equally in our climate. Here is what holds up best:

• Solid wood (maple, oak, birch): Durable and moisture-resistant when properly sealed and finished. The best long-term option.
• Marine-grade plywood: Excellent moisture resistance at a lower price point than solid wood.
• Thermofoil: Budget-friendly and water-resistant on the surface, but the foil can peel in extremely humid bathrooms over time.
• Particleboard or MDF: Avoid these for Florida bathrooms. They absorb moisture and swell, especially around sink plumbing where water exposure is frequent.

Countertop Pairings

Quartz is the top countertop choice for bathroom vanities in our area. It is non-porous, stain-resistant, and does not require sealing like natural stone. Marble looks beautiful but requires regular sealing and is more prone to etching from acidic products. Granite remains a solid mid-range choice that pairs well with most vanity styles.
